After spending a few days in Orange County, we headed to San Francisco.
We could have taken the 7 hour, Interstate -5 trip but we decided to take the 9 hour, Pacific Coast Highway, Route One instead. We stopped at the Hearst Castle (www.hearstcastle.com), and took in a 3 hour tour (a 3 hour tour, a 3 hour tour). We stopped in at Big Sur had dinner, drove through Carmel, home of Pebble Beach and other great golf.
I am not sure if you have ever driven down PCH or any other highway right on the water. But it can be scary, sometimes very scary. Michael had been driving all day and Camillia asked if she could relieve him.He said in a very calm, mild mannered voice. "Do you really think that I can let you drive? I am so scared right now with me driving. There is no way I can sit in that seat and let this be out of my control."

So she sat back and waited for San Francisco.
We did all of the touristy things in the Bay Area. We went to Muir Woods.

Saw some big 'ole trees!

Went off track ... well we got lost, but only for a few hours.

We went to Alcatraz!

Mike wanted to experience what it was really like to be a prisoner on the Rock!

We visited Napa Valley and took a tour to learn how Cham-
pagne was made.

But I think most of all we enjoyed driving up and down the streets. This is us on a trolley.
