Zander Blaze Colón has arrived

The overall the labor experience went very well!

Saturday, October 27th:
Mike told me to relax, not to work too much and not too clean, usually I don't listen but I was tired and I had a feeling the time was near! So, I slept most of the day.
I had sporadic contractions throughout the day but around @ 10 o'clock pm they started coming more regularly...


About an hour before pushing, I was trying to relax and conserve energy. This is Mike at the same time relaxing in his own way!



Sunday, October 28th:
12:30am Mike fell asleep (after a 12 hr work day)
....1:00 more contractions, total discomfort
2:00am Mike wakes up, contractions start coming much faster
2:35 (Mike) "When are we supposed to call....?
2:42 (Camillia) "I don't know call now, just call now!"
2:50 (Dr. Woods) "Come in."
2:55 Camillia is ready. Mike is scrambling.
3:05 Camillia is SO ready. Mike is scrambling.
3:07 (Camillia) "Are you for real....Michael, please we have got to go!"
3:09 Finally in the car and on the way.
3:42 Arrive at Emergency and carted to Maternity
4:00 Endless admitting paperwork, Dilated to 4cm
4:15-4:45 stick after stick after stick trying to get a vein for an IV
4:45 IV finally started.....half a bag of fluid to go until the epidural
5:00 Anesthesiologist arrives and begins to prepare contractions on top of one another, no valleys, no breaks
5:10-5:40 Prick after prick after prick to get the catheter in for the epidural I guess my lower back is more flexible than most.... (sorry Dr.D! , I tried my best to stay still)
6:00 Total and complete numbness, Dilated to 6 cm
6:05 Sleepy sleepy time for Mike and I.
8:00 Dilated to 8cm
9:00 Dawn arrives (Thanks for all your support Dawn!)
10:00 Ten (10) cm and fully dilated with a little lip. The baby's head is still very high.
11:00 The baby's head is still very high and not thinking of coming down.
11:10 Given pitocin to make contractions stronger and encourage head to come down.
12:00 Head down and pressing ready to push
12:05 Pushing
12:22 Zander Blaze arrives!

Zander Blaze Colón was born on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 12:22pm.
He weighed in at 7lbs 3oz and is 19 1/4" long.
